STORY
CAFÉ BAR BY THE SEA
Blinis Café Bar is owned and run by the Hook family who also run the adjacent Royal York & Faulkner Hotel.
Inspiration for the name 'Blinis' came from the traditional little Russian pancake made from buckwheat. A speciality of the café-bar menu, its origins can be traced back to ancient times, when blinis were made for a sun festival called the 'Maslenitsa', which was held the week before Lent. Hence the blini, round and golden, came to symbolise the sun.
